The Quarry
Man's insatiable appetite has resulted in many areas of natural beauty being reduced to scarred and sterile quarries. I came upon such a site recently! The two images were taken not more than fifty meters apart.
A pristine landscape adjacent to an area being quarried for road making fill.

Autumn In The Southern Drakensberg.
The Southern Drakensberg farming area of Underberg is renowned for it's autumn splendor. Over the years, thousands of acers have been planted and between march and april each year the district is a blaze of yellow and red.
This year was a particularly good one for visitors and photographers in particular.

Black and White Wabi Sabi
I am fascinated by old structures which show distress and age. Peeling paint and weathered wood, in particular, provide a 'three dimensional' graphic feel - ideally suited to black and white.

Paper Negatives
Paper negatives shot on my 5x7 pinhole camera.
Arista Grade II RC paper rated at 6 ISO and preflashed.
Exposures in the 50 to 90 second range.
Developed in highly diluted paper developer and alternating water bath.
Scanned on Scitex scanner and adjusted in Photoshop.
